Freedom!

As of yesterday morning, I am no longer a married woman.

I feel a bit guilty about the relief I am feeling about this, but then I remind myself that this time last year, D was in the midst of sleeping with a girl he worked with, while telling me he was working on an extra school project. And that the year since then has seen him flip-flop a few hundred times on whether he wanted to stay married, repeatedly disappear from all forms of contact for weeks on end, and get pretty much nothing done on the alloted timeframe, at least if it involved me. I've already spent almost a year mourning the death of this marriage, and it's okay for me to be mostly over that at this point.

In fact, it's okay for me to be pretty darn excited. In the last month or so, I have: gone back to the dance classes I love, become debt-free, started enjoying my job again, lost over 7 pounds, spent more time with girlfriends than I have since I lived in a college dorm, and started looking for a house or condo to buy. Sounds to me like my life is moving in a pretty positive direction.

Weekend Update

Not much knitting content this week... I've made it through about half of the foot of my second sock, but no pictures.

I did have a great long weekend (over Labor Day)... took Friday off and ended up going with my little sister and grandparents to the zoo.... here's my sis, Erin, with a new friend she made there.

It landed on her when she got about 4 steps into the butterfly exhibit, and stayed there for probably 5 or 6 minutes.

Then over the weekend Josie had her birthday, and Ilona had a friend, Maria, visiting, so we spent pretty much half or more of every day out and about - shopping, going out to eat, movies, etc... Here we all are at the Taste of Vancouver (WA), waiting for Pink Martini to play:
