SP4 Gifties!!!

My fabulous SP4 pal sent me beautiful yarn, which arrived yesterday. She is from Canada, and made an all-canadian package up for me... some absolutely delicious fleece artist wool/silk blend (I just want to pet it and pet it and then eat it up!)
And also, 2 skeins of koigu (my first) and a really neat scarf pattern to use them on.
Mariah isn't done yet, JoAnn's didn't have any zippers in the right length except for huge bulky parka ones... so I'm going to have to order on online...
Sorry to make this such a rush post, but I need to run... I'm trying Bikram Yoga out tonight, with Josie from my Stitch and Bitch, and if I'm at all late I'm SOL! So, off I go - adios!

Mariah nearly done

I'm sooo close to finished with Mariah! I bound off the collar on Wednesday night, so all I have left to do is weave in the remaining ends, wash/block, and add the zipper (yet to be purchased). I hope to wear my finished sweater to S'n'B on Monday...

Comments are back!
Oops! When I moved my bloggy to MT I added a comment-spam killing plugin (it only allows comments through that were either typed in the box, or pasted and submitted). Unfortunately, I added it slightly wrong, turning it into pretty much just a comment-killing plugin!
Thanks to a note from Ilona, I figured out what the problem was, and I'm pretty sure it's all better now - so if you tried to leave me a comment in the last week and were thwarted, please try again... heck, even if you didn't, test it out just for kicks. ;-)

Quick entry
Damn this work thing, it keeps getting in the way of my knitting and blogging! ;-)
Last Monday at Stitch 'n Bitch, I discovered that one of the chicas is a fellow blogger! Go check her out and ogle the fabulous alpaca fair isle cardi she's just about done with. In related news, this coming Monday I'll be headed back to Weight Watchers meetings - Ilona and another of the S'n'Bers started going to meetings before our get together last week, and I'm going to join the 2 of them. I haven't been to meetings in probably about 6 months (and have gained back a decent chunk of the 25lbs I lost last year), so it will be good to go back - and it will be particularly awesome to have people I go with this time.
Mariah is coming along well - no new pics though. I'm about halfway through the yoke, and hoping to get lots of car knitting time on my way to and from Seattle this weekend. I'd really like to have it done by next weekend, but I'm no sure if that's gonna happen, as I don't have a zipper for it yet!
Aaaaand, now I have a meeting to go to - have a great weekend!

Book Bonanza

Ran across a bookstore having a retirement/closing sale in Eugene yesterday, and came away with all of these (plus a few gifty-things) The Birth of Venus was 20% off, all the rest were advanced reader's copies, at $1.50 each (score!) The front three were books I've been wanting to get anyway, the others, well - they looked like they had enough potential to be fun that I was willing to drop a buck and a half on them!

One of my most recent non-knitting craftbursts - three sets of clicky hairclips blinged up with swarovski crystals. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my camera to take any pics that showerd to colors and were in focus at the same time, but you get the idea.

A happy koala

Just one quick post before I head down to Eugene for the evening.... I have lots more to post that will hopefully go up tomorrow.
This weekend was my baby cousin Liam's first birthday - here's a picture of him enjoying the felted Koala I made for him. I forgot to get a pic of it once it was completely finished (with eyes and sufficient stuffing and such), before wrapping it up, so this is about as good as it gets, but that's okay - it certainly shows that he likes it. :-)
In a stroke of luck, I happened to find an adorable kids birthday card with a koala at Target on Saturday, too, so it was a whole theme-present thing, too!

w00t!
As you can see, the site's had a bit of a revamp! I decided to just put together a simple MT layout on my own, and I've got it all working decently now, as far as I can tell. Please let me know if anything looks wierd or doesn't work right for you...
Oh, and since blogger doesn't export comments (grr) I've manually converted all the ones from February forward, sticking them in the extended entry section of the entries they belong to.
