SP Gift and Scarf-O-Rama
Things have been very busy here in Shannon-land, and I have been remiss in posting... sorry! Now that I'm back, my first order of business is to publicly thank my Secret Pal for the lovely gift that arrived about a week and a half ago.
It includes a beautiful and very soft black halter top, which I will hopefully be able to wear once I get further along in my weight loss (though I will need to invest in a black strapless bra - I have the BOOBS OF DOOM and going braless is a scary and uncomfortable proposition!); and a very cute bear magnet, as well as nice hand-stenciled note. Thank You, T! And sorry it took me so long to post...
I had a stretch of a few weeks where I did little to no knitting, but I'm making time once again. And what am I knitting? SCARVES! I am up to my neck in them. ;-) I have all sorts of interesting projects waiting in the wings - a cardi, a stuffed llama, am xmas gift for my mom - but I am disciplining myself to focs on things to sell at the upcoming 3WAuction craft fair, which begins November 8th. I'll be selling some of my stationery goods there, as well as at least one knit bag, scarves, and hopefully some knit flowers.

Knitting Quiz

You appear to be a Knitting Adventurer. You are through those knitting growing pains and
feeling more adventurous. You can follow a
standard pattern if it's not too complicated
and know where to go to get help. Maybe you've
started to experiment with different fibers and
you might be eyeing a book with a cool
technique you've never tried. Perhaps you
prefer to stick to other people's patterns but
you are trying to challenge yourself more.
Regardless of your preference, you are
continually trying to grow as a knitter, and as
well you should since your non-knitting friends
are probably dropping some serious hints, these
days. http://marniemaclean.com

Still alive
Very little knitting this week, hence the lack of posting. And when I do knit, I'm having to hold myself to only knitting pretty but boring scarves, since I need to get them done by early November for the craft fair. I want to find some knit flower patterns and make some flower pins to sell, too... they should come together rather quickly, I'd imagine. I do, however, have a request of my readers (she says, optimistically hoping there's more than one). I think I mentioned earlier that D has requested knit socks... I got the yarn for them (a marled grey & red lang jawoll superwash), but I need a pattern. Free would certainly be preferred, but I'm willing to buy - I don't want to buy a whole book, though. I want something basic, even boring... the catch is, that he wears size 13 feet. I looked at the beginner sock patterns at Yarn Garden last night, and didn't find anything that went up to a size large than "mens medium". So, can anyone recommend a good sock pattern that comes supersized? Oh, and I just realized that I hadn't mentioned that Barb's Boucle and the Landscapes Bag 2 were both gifted last Saturday night, and both were greeted with adoration by the recipients. Hooray for knitted gifts that find good homes! --------Posted by Shannon at 03:48 PM | Comments (0)
